The IPL hair removal procedure
With Palomar intense pulsed light system, the doctor uses special handpieces which filter the light from different parts of the light spectrum. Those Palomar smart heads target at hair follicles. The pulse light is absorbed by their dark pigment and is converted into heat. This heat makes the hair fall and deactivates the cells responsible for growing new hair.
Pulsed light treatment can be applied on any face and body part, except from the eyes which are a very sensitive area. During the procedure, the trained staff moves the handpiece on the skin. The head emits pulses of light on it and the patient feels the heat only slightly.
After the hair removal treatment
1. After the procedure, you may have a mild sunburn sensation and minor swelling. This usually lasts 2- 4 hours and can be treated with a moisturizing cream or ice cubes.
