A new technique called V-M.A.C.S. “removes” 10 years off your face offering a natural and beautiful result.
As we age, skin loses its elasticity and starts to sag. Especially after hitting the age of 45, the time has come to tighten up your skin, and facelift is still the gold standard for that. The newest surgical trend is called V-M.A.C.S. and it combines the brand new V-Smasectomy with the traditional and always credible M.A.C.S. This combination of the new with the old can produce very interesting, innovative and great results.

Kosmesis team, with participation in global conferences and over 20 years of experience in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, is the ideal choice for achieving an excellent result.
But what about V-MACS Facelift? Anyone who decides to undergo the procedure has specific expectations from the plastic surgeon and the operation itself. What is most important for them, is to achieve a natural and long lasting result. However, there are additional expectations that a patient might have, including minimal incisions & pain, short recovery time and fast return to their daily routine.
In order to achieve natural and long lasting results, the plastic surgeon must not only pull the skin but its inner facial tissue called SMAS (Submuscular aponeurotic system) as well.
During the V-Smasectomy procedure, incisions are made along the patient’s sideburns, through the ear. The doctor also makes other incisions of around 3-4cm behind the ear. The length of the incisions is closely related to the neck skin sagging levels. The tightening of the skin is made along the sideburn and ear lines. During the V-Smasectomy procedure, we remove a part of the submuscular aponeurotic system and right after that, we use sutures in order to achieve repositioning at a higher level.
The advantages of the new V-Smasectomy technique are:
1. A natural and long-lasting result
2. A refreshed appearance
3. Very small, almost invisible incisions
4. Local anesthesia or sedation
5. The patient can return home the same day
6. Short recovery time and fast return to the daily routine
7. Minimal post-surgery pain
M.A.C.S. Facelift
M.A.C.S. Facelift is a rhytidectomy method based on the principles of M.A.C.S. – Minimal Access Cranial Suspension, which means “lifting with small incisions as well as cranial suspension”.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia, although we can also use local anesthesia or sedation, always depending on the degree of skin sagging. The incisions are no wider than 4 cm and they are made along the sideburns through the ear.
Ideal candidates for this facelift technique are both men and women who experience loose face, neck and jaw line skin. Even though MACS facelift is performed mainly on patients over 40, there is no specific age limit.
The facelift results:
1. There is both skin and inner tissue suspension
2. Double suspension achieves long lasting results
3. The natural result lasts for almost 10 years
4. Age, genes and exogenous factors such as smoking and sun exposure may affect the result
5. Operation lasts for almost 2 hours
6. Ecchymosis and bruising are almost invisible
7. The patient returns home the same day and they can move freely, since the pain is minimal
